Waisted Bowl with Pale Yellow Glaze Jingdezhen ware Qianlong Reign

    Height 8.2 cm Diameter of rim 15.5 cm Diameter of foot 5.7 cm
    It has a round, opening mouth. It has a deep stomach. A line divides the belly into two parts. The upper part is bigger and the lower part is narrower. It is so called “narrower waist” (look like a bamboo rain hat) design.  The bowl has a round foot and the clay of the body is smooth, white and tight. It is covered with white glaze in the interior wall, the mouth and the foot of the bowl. The exterior wall of the bowl is covered with cream-colored glaze which is bright and clean. The bottom of the foot is not glazed and it has some scratches. It is marked “Made in Qing     Dynasty, Qian Long Reign officially” in blue-and-white seal character at the bottom of the round foot.
    The Bamboo Rain Hat Designed Bowl has another name “narrower waist” or “Straw Hat Designed Bowl” which are popular in Ming and Qing Dynasty. This Bamboo Rain Hat Designed Bowl of Qian Long Reign has a special model and the wall of the bowl has different depth. The cream-colored glaze is mild and delicate so it is a rare single glazed product.
