It has a round and straight mouth, narrow shoulder and it is adhered a pair of ears (dragon pattern) at both side of the shoulder. The deep bulged belly is down. The Zun has a big round foot. It is decorated clouds and thunder patterns around the exterior of the mouth; blue-and-white “Shou” (symbol of longevity) patterns were painted around the neck; blue-and-white interlocking lotus patterns were painted all over the belly; it was decorated with transfiguring lotus pattern at the bottom of the belly; blue-and-white waving grass belt pattern was decorated at the foot.
The whole Zun is full of the sense of simplicity. The clay of the body is fine and white, heavy and solid. The white glaze is so clear; the blue-and-white glaze is colorful and fresh. The paintings are vivid and fluid and all decorations are delicate. It is marked” Made in Qing Dynasty officially, Qian Long Reign” in seal character at the bottom of the foot. Bull Head Zun is not a tool in daily life and it is named Bull Head Zun because of its structure which looks like the head of a bull. Usually it is put on the table in the room. This Zun is made officially so the decorations are magnificent. It has a strong comparatively about the overall arrangement. The glaze of the blue-and-white is steady so it is a masterpiece in Qian Long Reign.
