Bluish White Jade Ornament Carved with an Arhat Qing Dynasty (1644-1911)

The artist took some professional carving skills to make the sculpture. First, there was a pine tree was carved in the jade. Then the carved picture showed the following scenery. An Arhat is sitting on the stone. He crossed his legs and tucked his knees. The Arhat had two long eyebrows which were near to his shoulder and he was yawning. A jade tower was standing in the left front of the Arhat. A story of the birth of the Buddha was carved on the stone. The other side of the jade was carved with some stairs and an osmanthus tree. The long eyebrow Arhat was the 15 th Arhats and his original name was Ajita. Ajita is from the Sanskrit which means integrity. He can eliminate the monsters and the evils.
 The jade is delicate and fine. The artist used some professional techniques to make such a marvelous sculpture. The Arhat was natural and his dress was carved vividly. So both of the material and the skills of the sculpture are brilliant which is a masterpiece is during the middle of Qing Dynasty.
