The Chen's Ancestral Temple located at 15th, Gongyuanxi Road, Siming District. Chen Huacheng was died in June, 1842 during the war against the colonists from England at Wusong, Shanghai. The emperor, Daoguang, (one of the kings in Qing Dynasty) awarded him to build two temples to memorize his loyalty. One is in Shanghai and the other is in his hometown, Xiamen. The Chen's Ancestral Temple as finished in 1850 and the total area is 188 square meters. It was listed to be the first batch of important ancient sites of Xiamen. it was rebuilt twice in1989 and 1999 respectively.
The Chen’s Ancestral Temple is a Patriotism Education Basement. The historical pictures, ancient artilleries were exhibited in the lobby. it also has the introduction of Chen Huacheng’s story.
