Cheng Yonghua’s ceramic seals-永华

Collection situation

Cheng Yonghua’s ceramic seals. The seals are made of ceramic with light yellow glaze and ice cracks on the surface, engraved with "Yonghua" and "Fufu" in the seal script respectively. Both seals are 4.5 cm long and 8 cm high, with buttons resembling an angry sitting haetae and a female haetae licking a little haetae on the right. In the ancient Chinese myths and legends, haetae symbolizes the fairness and justice. The haetae-shaped seal button indicates their owner Chen Yonghua’s determination to be just and fair. Zhu Jiajin, a renowned cultural relic appraiser, believed that the two porcelain seals were fine works from Dehua Kiln in Fujian province.
