Collection situation

      The Official Seal of Supervising Vice-Commissioner-in-Chief is Grade One Cultural Relic, made of copper in early Qing dynasty with a straight button. Weighing 750g, it is 8.7cm Long, 6cm wide and 8.5cm high.
      It bears an eight-character impression “Jiān Dū Dōu Dū Tóng Zhī GuānFáng ” in Seal writing. “Guanfang” is a type of seal created in the early Ming dynasty.
      In May of the ninth year of the reign of Emperor Yongli (1659), Zheng Chenggong established “Senior Supervisor” and “Supervisor” according to the Ming system. The two positions are required to follow the Commander-in-chief in case of operation and have the power to execute generals who desert from the battlefield.
      As an official evidence cast by the Ming regime, it also reflects the political and military activities during the Zheng family’s resistance against Qing forces. The seal was collected from Tong’an county in Xiamen.
