Xiamen Zheng Chenggong Memorial Hall was built in 1962,to commemorate the 300th anniversary of the successful recapture of Taiwan by Zheng Chenggong, a famous national hero of China.The hall is located in the north Piedmont of Sunlight Rock, a famous national scenic spot in Kulangsu, Xiamen. The magnificent main exhibition building Xilin Villa is a historical architecture sandwiched between hills and waters，Magnificent momentum. The Longtoushanzhai where Zheng Chenggong once trained his troops and the Shuicao Platform where he trained the navy are located to the north of the building. The exhibition hall which is also a historical site, has become a patriotic collection and research center of historical materials dedicated to the hero.The exhibition hall “ Hero Of The Fujian National water Zheng Chenggong", has a display area of 1000 square meters. In addition to the Preface Hall, four exhibition areas have been set up, namely, maritime family, anti-Qing and maritime trade, recovery of Taiwan and development of Taiwan. Through the organic combination of various cultural relics, documents, photographs, charts, paintings, sculptures and scenes, Zheng Chenggong's great life as has been vividly and succinctly brought into the 17th century In the great navigational era, he highlighted his unique position in the history of China and even the world, making his image of patriotism more full and lofty.
In terms of form, historical relics of vital importance are exhibited accompanied by vivid artwork and artistic scenes. A total of 99 pieces of cultural relics are on display, among which 20 are first grade cultural relic . The display has a special visual effect. All the boards and cabinets are made of burning wood boards processed with high-temperature, spraying and burning. Fire plates are combined with rusted rivets, as if they had been used in ancient war ships. This not only emphasizes the close relationship between Zheng Chenggong and the ocean, but also highlights the vicissitudes of history and creates a dignified historical atmosphere. In the limited space, we still take the material object as the main body, and manage to create the display effect of high generalization, fine technique and reasonable distribution. At the same time, the oil painting and sculpture works of famous artists are interspersed and embellished in the exhibition line to improve the artistic taste of the whole exhibition.
